Professional Summary

Ian Critchley started his career in mentoring and coaching after nearly twenty years pursuing a career in engineering. Although he was very adept at his job, he realized his heart wasn't in it. His unique ideas about training management developed while speaking with a friend of his who had some similar observations on the way management in companies is executed and how it fails. Through these discussions, he became very passionate about the ideas he had and although his findings pished him away from his friends, he kept pursuing his passion. Ian works independently as a Leadership Coach with his own company Ian Critchley Ltd/Breadstone. He began working with another friend as of his recent. At Leading Lights he develops and is in charge of managing and delivering the Transition LeadersTM Program. This program is a fully supported mentoring program that delivers improved employee engagement with clear business results. It aims to help managers by improving their individual and synergistic contributions to the business. Essentially, he finds way to help management manage better. He teaches executives techniques he wishes he had when he was in management himself. Ian is a member of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and European Mentoring & Coaching Council UK. In his free time, he is taking piloting lessons, which he is very enthusiastic about. He also has recently taken up golf and plays the guitar. He realizes the importance of balancing his life between work and other enjoyment.
