Dr. Alan Letson, MD has had over 35 years of experience as a nationally renowned ophthalmologist. As an ophthalmologist, his primary interest is in retinal diseases, particularly diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other vascular diseases. He has extensive experience in the management of Vitreo-Retinal Diseases, training of medical students, residents and fellows, and in conducting/participating in major clinical trials. Throughout his career, he has performed over 25, 000 retinal surgeries caring for thousand of patients. His passion for medicine derived from a love of biological sciences, as well as a desire to assist mankind. He chose ophthalmology because of its ability to combine several areas of medicine and intern to treat certain ailments throughout the entire body. His success can be attributed to his education attained at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, as well as his familial support coming from a family of doctors.
