Thomas Weber is currently the president of Par Hawaii Refining LLC (formerly Hawaii Independent Energy). He has held this position since September 2013. Tom earned a degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1976. He followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a chemical engineer. A recent accomplishment includes the 2013 re-start of the Tesoro Hawaii refinery following a shutdown and subsequent sale to Par Pacific Holdings, an effort that kept about 250 jobs in place in the Hawaii industrial center and helped to provide a base for Par Pacific to expand business elsewhere. Overall, Tom has 40 years of experience in the oil industry, having worked for most of his career in the Los Angeles, CA area with Tesoro, Shell and Ultramar.
