Professional Summary

My basic research fields are the regulation of gene expression through chromatin structural dynamics and the molecular signal transduction of tumour cells. My translational research resulted in DNA constructs for DNA-vaccines against infectious diseases, cell-based gene therapies, and for DNA-based immunomodulation. I am the scientific "father" of key technologies of MOLOGEN AG - the company I founded, went public with, and served as their CEO for 10 years. Several of such DNA medicines are currently in advanced clinical trials.
