Professional Summary

Nyambi Nyambi is the chief technology officer (CTO) at the District of Columbia Office of Zoning (DCOZ). He has held this position since July 1999. He was the first and has been the only CTO of this small government organization. Additionally, he has owned N Squared Systems, an information technology consulting firm, since January 1991. The Karcher Group, an online marketing company, has been his client since 2003 and Optimal Solutions Technologies, an information technology company, has been his client since 2002. Nyambi earned a bachelor’s in environmental design and a bachelor’s in architecture in 1981 and a master’s in regional and city planning in 1983, all from the University of Oklahoma, and he became a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners in 1990. He has held several executive positions, including urban designer at City of Dallas Department of Planning and Economic Development and deputy director of planning and the information technology division at the National Capital Planning Commission, prior to acquiring his current role. Nyambi has been a member of the Washington, D.C., chapter of Lambda Alpha International since 2010. He volunteers his time in his current hometown of Washington, D.C. and in his home country of Nigeria. He has been a board member of the Sister States of Maryland, Inc., and chairman of Cross River State Committee of the Sister States of Maryland, Inc., both since 2013. Nyambi travels once yearly to the African country to do volunteer work.
