Masood Nawaz has more than 17 years of professional experience in his career. A versatile business and energy executive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, he has a wide range of experience in independent power and water generation and utility sector, spanning from nuclear to fossil and renewables in power generation and all kind of technologies in water desalination sector. Throughout his career, he has worked in strategic planning, project development and management, asset management, budgeting and cost management and financial and power/water demand modelling. Currently, Masood is General Manager with ACWA Power, which is the largest private-sector independent power and water developer and operator in the Middle East. ACWA Power provides highly reliable operation and maintenance services for the production of electricity and desalinated water and has assets in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Masood was prompted to get involved in this profession by way of natural progression and passion and is an expert in business analytics, strategic management, asset management and data-driven decision making. His highest level of education is a master's degree in nuclear engineering and an MBA. He is part of the engineering council and does public speaking engagements, such as conferences.
