Maryam Gozal is an accomplished consultant, businesswoman, and philanthropist. She has served as President of Faba International Inc. for the past year and a half, which focuses on ecommerce and online fashion. Maryam singlehandedly created the company culture, philosophy and ethics of Faba, and built the senior management team. Indeed, the company is rooted in philanthropy, with a percentage of the proceeds going to various charities and organizations dedicated to helping children, women, and international communities. For the past 7 years, she has also organized fundraising activities for Sokak Kedisi, recruited volunteers and coordinated their work, and approached individuals, schools, universities, local authorities, shops and commercial organizations for sponsorship and donations. Originally, Maryam was inspired by her father, a great entrepreneur who instilled philanthropic and social work values in her, and who was truly a self-made man. When she was 20 and studying Liberal Arts at Columbia University in New York, Maryam was able to give her father one of her kidneys and this experience certainly informed her future work. She was also inspired by experiencing the prevalence of kids on the street in Turkey, and those living in orphanages there and in many countries. Maryam believed in the power of sharing and this philosophy is incorporated into Faba International. She conducts a lot of research into the organizations who benefit to establish which ones will mesh most effectively with her approach. Ms. Gozal speaks passionately about her work with the Turkish organization Sokak Kedisi, that helps both animals and children who interact with animals, promoting specific education along these lines. Going forward, she wants to focus on gathering people and organizations committed to the idea of giving back, supporting kids and orphanages, while providing educational opportunities. She wants to inspire their creativity and education, foster entrepreneurial qualities, while learning through the arts. Ultimately she would like to open a huge school or orphanage to provide education. Maryam would like to connect with other like-minded professionals on a global level, to inspire and share their knowledge and skills for the betterment of businesses and the world community. In her spare time, Maryam enjoys swimming, and she loves going to the beache. She speaks English, Turkish, Azeri, and Persian, as well as some Farsi and Arabic.
