Mr. Mark G. Byrd is a native of Elkhart, Indiana and graduated from the University Of Notre Dame, Indiana in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences. As MCA/SRM Program Manager, Plans and Programming Team, Mr. Byrd is responsible for planning, programming and executing the FORSCOM Military Construction, Army (MCA) and Sustainment, Restoration and Maintenance (SRM) Programs. Prior to taking this position, he served as the Military Construction Army Team Leader, Real Property Management Branch, Public Works Division, Southeast Region, Installation Management CommandDuring his 29 year professional career, Mr. Byrd has served in a variety of leadership and management positions in the Army as a commissioned officer and DA Civilian. After graduating, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers and held numerous troop leadership assignments including: platoon leader, Assistant Operations Officer (Air), Battalion Operations Officer, Company Commander, Full Time Active Army Advisor to the USAR 416th Engineer Command, Engineer Exercise Officer (US Army South), and 81st Army Reserve Command Staff Engineer. He culminated his military career as Engineer Staff Officer, US Army Reserve Command, Atlanta, GA and retired from active duty with 17 years of service. In late 1996, Mr. Byrd was then hired as a DA Civilian Civil Engineer responsible for planning, programming and executing Military Construction Army Reserve (MCAR) construction across the continental United States.
