Dr. Mario Tristan has several years of experience in his current field. He is the Senior Researcher, Director and CEO of IHCAI Foundation, Cochrane Central America & Spanish Caribbean. Dr. Mario Tristan is one of the fuunders, the CEO and Director General of the International Health Central American Institute Foundation (IHCAI). He is also the Director of Cochrane Central America & Spanish Caribbean branch of the Iberoamerican Cochrane Centre. He is actively participating in the MASCOT project (Multilateral Association for Studying Health Inequalities and Enhancing North-South and South-South Cooperation). This is an ongoing project, unveiled in 2012 and due to finish March 2014, and is coordinated by COHRED. MASCOT gathers partners and experts from Africa, Latin America and Europe, to identify and implement strategies for tackling health inequalities preferentially affecting children, adolescents and mothers. His affiliations include: Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Public Health Journal WDC USA, BIREME/PAHO/WHO, Scientific Committee Member, International Health Central American Institute. He is part of the Multi-lateral Association for Studying Health Inequalities and Enhancing North-South And South-South Cooperation (MASCOT) In the next few years he would like to continue what he is currently doing. He is looking forward to networking and connecting with other like-minded professionals, and to gaining the recognition and credibility of being a member.
