He began his construction career specializing in heavy equipment. From there, he went into structural iron work and worked his way up to General Foreman and Superintendent. He then moved on to become a Project Superintendent with a company that focused on hotel and school construction. In 1990, he founded a company specializing in concrete construction in the Virgin Islands.
