Carol is not only a professor and associate dean but she is a co-consultant for the Dept. of Justice Public Housing Committee. Dr. Winkler reaches out into the community and teaches young people how to debate as a way to steer them away from getting involved in violence and bad influences. She wants communities to form global partnerships to use debate to prevent violence on a global level. She also has a book called, "In the Name of Terrorism: Presidents on Political Violence in the Post WWII Era", 2006. Her lines of argument in the book are an approach to debate.
