Dr. Daniel Costa has served as the National Program Director for Air, Climate and Energy of the United States Environmental Protection Agency since 2009. Prior to that, he had served as the National Program Director for Air Research. In a career spanning nearly 40 years, Dr. Costa has focused extensively on air pollution research and environmental and public health. His diverse health research background includes industrial health and hygiene as well as the evaluation of data from various toxicological studies. Lecturing frequently on scientific programs and during congressional hearings, Dr. Costa has also been published in numerous scientific journals, and has been quoted in about 200 publications altogether. He attributes his success to his passion about the importance of air quality and climate sustainability.
