Bruce G. Lindsey is Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology in the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974. His research focuses on the functional architecture and reconfiguration of brainstem neuronal circuits that control breathing and airway defensive behaviors. He served as interim Vice-President for Research at USF from 2001 to 2003. He is a past chair of the Central Nervous System Section of the American Physiological Society and recipient of a Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH.
