Terry Dean is a dedicated, successful non-profit executive with over 20 years of experience in strategic partnerships and planning, program management and leadership. Since 2015, he has served as Senior Vice President, Federation Development and Partnerships for the Canadian Lung Association, the leading national organization for science-based information, research, education, support programs and advocacy on lung heath issues. His key responsibilities involve leading the strategic direction of the organization and oversight of programs and teams in all ten of Canada's provinces. Terry also has extensive experience with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and for the past six years, has served as their Director, Health Check and The Heart Truth Programs. In prior roles, Terry has worked for consumer packaged goods companies and was the Director of National Sales and Business Development for Mead Johnson Nutritionals (a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb Ltd) where he was responsible for leading the identification of successful national sales opportunities for hospital, physician and retail sales divisions. His area of expertise is strategic initiatives and partnerships and he excels at working with a diverse array of public service and healthcare organizations. Terry graduated with an Honors Bachelors of Commerce from Laurentian University in 1987. He is part of CSAE- Canadian Society of Association Executives. He speaks some French and has done a significant amount of public speaking at conferences, particularly in his role working on the Health Check program. Going forward, Terry plans to enhance the foundation's programs, continue fostering great partnerships, and will be unveiling a new strategic plan and focus to further reach all Canadians. The key to his success thus far is collaboration with his team, colleagues and partners. He is keen to network and make quality business connections. When he's not working, Terry is very active and enjoys cycling, golf, and cross-country skiing. He is also a donor to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and The Cancer Society.
